'Musafir hoon yaaron' (Friends, I'm a traveller) tells the story of a music composer whose unparallel acumen revolutionized Hindi music and cinema in the 60s and 70s. Based on the life of R D Burman, Musafir captures the swing and the slide, the romance and hardships of a man who is clearly ahead of his time. His music, influenced by western, latino and oriental touches have been disdained by his legendary father. Yet he finds ways to attract musicians, directors, fandom, and rises to the top..
Nothing stays forever, definitely not in the music world. Once a Midas man, whose music promised gold, now crestfallen with the rise of Disco. How does his own people treat him now?
