Advancing Equity in Diabetes Care for Black Populations
Thu 28 Nov 2024 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Coin Street Conference Centre, London, SE1 9NH
Description
The ‘Advancing Equity in Diabetes Care for Black Populations’ was an opportunity for health and care professionals, policymakers, researchers, and community leaders to meet with one another, take stock of the activities happening around the UK, upskill, and work together to improve diabetes and related disease outcomes for people of Black, Black African, and Black Caribbean heritage in the UK.
With a focus on closing the inequity gap, we continued to build on from last year’s event where we explored how we can close the gap in diabetes inequalities in Black populations within the UK.
This events sessions included: African and Caribbean Foods: get to know them, Spotting diabetes foot complications in dark skin tones: When the ‘red flag’ might not be red, Diabetes in pregnancy: cultural considerations in Black populations, and Achieving Equity in access to Diabetes Technology. You can watch the session recordings on our YouTube channel.
