Dirty Weekender 2027 - 'House' in the Country

Sat 26 Jun 2027 12:00 PM - Sun 27 Jun 2027 11:45 PM BST Ash Barton Estate, EX33 2NP

Right… Amsterdam’s been emotional. Three times was the cut off and now it's time for something different.

Next June — late-June sunshine territory — we’re taking over our own 25-acre country estate in Braunton, North Devon. Yes. Our. Own. Estate. We get the keys Friday and we do not stop until Monday. No neighbours for two miles. No side-eyes. No noise complaints. Just us, a club room, a field, and a 24-hour licence. Grown-up raving with absolutely zero supervision.

There’s a full-blown club room in one of the barns — light-up dancefloor and everything. And we’re not bringing some “that’ll do” speaker setup. We’re bringing a serious sound system. Chest-rattling, eyes-closed, one-more-tune business. If the sun’s playing ball, we’re outside on the massive lawn with full festival vibe. Sunglasses on. Arms in the air and sharing your bottle of water (or vodka)!

Soundtrack for the weekend? Dirty Stereo All Stars, obviously — plus a load of our lot and some very tasty headliners who’ll absolutely want in on this madness.

Camping? Loads of space. Tent, campervan, caravan — or go glamping if your back starts filing complaints at 3am. And this isn’t some muddy field situation. We’ve got proper toilets. Showers. Mirrors. Plugs. Even a washing machine. We are over 40 now and want the finer things in life.

It’s bring your own booze for the whole weekend— because we’ve paid enough club bar prices in our lifetime.

If you run dry, we’ll have a bar cheaper than Wetherspoons (let that sink in). And it’s being run by your favourite soap legends — Dirty Den, Angie, Peggy, Pat, Frank, Bet Lynch — we'll be in full costume and no one is getting barred! The shops are only a 5 minute drive if you need to restock your booze.

Yes, clubbing is the main event. But we’re not just standing in a dark room for three days.

Saturday from 12pm: full Sports Day on the lawn. Egg & spoon. Sack race. Relays. Welly throwing,Ttug of war. Competitive but with pulled hamstrings energy. If the sun bottles it, we can move inside with added indoor basketball, 5-a-side, table football, air hockey, table tennis, pool, full-size snooker, and a heated swimming pool. That’s right. You can go from a block rocking beats to the backstroke in under five minutes.

Sunday from 12pm: “School Assembly Bangers” in a 200-seat chapel. Total throwback chaos. “Give Me Oil In My Lamp.” “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands.” Backing tracks for those who’ve lost their top notes somewhere between Ministry and Fabric. Nostalgia turned up to full volume. You’ll laugh. You might cry. You’ll definitely sing.

Music runs 2pm–10pm outside (weather behaving) or inside in the barn, then 10pm–2am in the barn. After that? We’ve got DJs on call because — say it with me — 24-hour licence. That said… a tactical disco nap might not be the worst idea. We’re veterans now. We pace ourselves. Sometimes.

And this is why you camp. No hunting for taxis. No surge pricing. Just wobble back to your tent, unzip, and horizontal.

Food vendors on site all weekend — breakfast, lunch, dinner. Bring a BBQ if you fancy it. Supermarket five minutes away if you forgot the oat milk or the tequila.

If camping isn’t your thing anymore there are loads of very reasonably priced Airbnbs and hotels 5–15 minutes away.
