Learning From You About the Traveline Scotland Website and App

Transport Scotland wants it to be easier for members of the public to plan and make journeys in and around Scotland. 

One way to do this is by improving the Traveline Scotland website and app.

For example, making it simpler for you to:

• Find out cost of a journey and how long it will take
• Check the accessibility of a journey, such as step-free options and staff assistance
• View journeys that includes multiple types of transport e.g. train, bus, taxi
• Get live updates on disruptions as you travel

Traveline Scotland is the national public transport journey planning service for all bus, rail, coach, air, and ferry times in Scotland. The website and app are supported by a 24/7 call centre for customer enquiries.

What we want to learn from Disability Equality Scotland members

The consultation event on Wednesday 4 February will build on feedback we have previously been given from Disability Equality Scotland members.

The new Traveline Scotland website and app was launched in September 2024. Since then, the project team have been listening to user feedback and making improvements. We would like to talk to you about your experience of using the Traveline Scotland website and app to plan journeys. If you don’t use it, we are interested to learn more about this, and what you use instead.

By taking part in a research session, you will help Transport Scotland to introduce changes that make Traveline Scotland better and easier to use.

What to do to prepare

If you haven’t already tried out the Traveline Scotland website and app, you could try using the website to plan a journey. You can also download the app and try that. Traveline Scotland app - Traveline Scotland

If you wish, you can have a think about the information that you look for when you are planning a trip by public transport.  Does Traveline Scotland give you the information you need? Was it easy for you to find? You can also have a think about you like or don’t like about the other websites and apps that you use for information about buses, trains and other public transport.

How to join the event

You can attend this event online. If you want to join the event please register as soon as possible. 

The event will start at 11.00am and finish at 12.30pm.

The online event will be on Zoom. We will send the link to people who register for online tickets once registration has closed.

Communication support at the event

We have booked communication support for the event. But if nobody tells us they need communication support before 21 January 2026, we will cancel the communication support booking. So if you need communication support, you must register for your ticket before Wednesday 21 January 2026. If you register for a ticket after this date, we might not be able to re-book the communication support.
