The Access Panel Network Engagement team at Disability Equality Scotland are hosting an event for International Human Rights Day.

Date: Thursday 10 December 2026

Time: 1pm to 2pm (Room opens at 12.55pm for check-in)

Location: Zoom (online)

Access to services is a fundamental human right and an essential element of the well-known ‘AAAQ’ element of a human rights based approach (that services are Available, Accessible, Acceptable, and of good Quality). However, as we know, too many disabled people are still denied full enjoyment of this right.

This event will showcase the work of Access Panels. Unique to Scotland, these are groups of disabled people who volunteer their time and work together to improve accessibility and wider social inclusion in their local communities. At our event, participants will hear direct from Access Panels about action they have taken that has led to real, positive change for disabled people in their communities.
