Consultation Survey

You may have already completed our recent survey on this area to help Disability Equality Scotland (DES) respond to the Scottish Government's consultation on food pricing.

Opportunity to Speak Directly to The Scottish Government

In addition to this, the Scottish Government has now approached DES as they would like to hear directly from people with lived experience of food affordability challenges, to help inform their understanding of the evidence, personal views and potential impacts.

If you would like to share your views directly with Scottish Government representatives, please join us online on 23 November to discuss the Scottish Government’s consultation on price controls for essential food items.

Background

The Scottish Government's proposal explores whether setting a legal maximum price for everyday essentials, such as bread, milk and eggs, could help make food more affordable. We want to hear your views and experiences as disabled people, including how the rising cost of food affects you, your household and your ability to access affordable, nutritious food. Your voice matters, and sharing your experiences can help ensure that the needs and priorities of disabled people are considered when decisions are made.

Accessibility

British Sign Language (BSL) and/or captioning can be provided if required. Please let us know about any accessibility requirements when registering so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
