Webinar: Disability Training for Public Transport Staff
Thu 24 Feb 2022 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM GMT
Online, Zoom
Description
Join Disability Equality Scotland and Transport Scotland as we host a webinar discussing disability awareness training for public transport staff in Scotland.
Feedback from our members has suggested that the success of a journey often depends on the attitude and behaviour of transport staff. Their knowledge and awareness of disabled people’s travel needs can make all the difference to a journey and can help disabled people to have confidence to travel.
During this interactive webinar, we will be joined by representatives from leading public transport operators in Scotland to discuss how disabled people can be better supported on their journeys. We will be thinking about:
- What is your experience of public transport staff attitudes to disability?
- How could transport staff improve your journey experience?
- Do you feel your accessibility needs are met across bus, rail, ferry and air services?
Feel free to submit questions to us in advance via the registration form or by emailing alistair@disabilityequality.scot. Alternatively, you can ask them live during the session via the chat box.
This webinar will be supported by live captioning, as well as a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter. For information on Zoom's accessibility features, as well as guidance on how to interact using Zoom Meetings, please visit our website on www.disabilityequality.scot/events/accessibility.
If you're having trouble filling out your registration form, please contact alistair@disabilityequality.scot.
The Webinar will take place on Thursday 24 February 2022, from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.
We look forward to welcoming you on the day!
