Class is a place of personal growth, community building, curiosity, skill-building, and play. We learn from one another. We grow together. Join us!

Drop In, Spiral Out Class Descriptions
Nicole: Through guided improvisation and choreographed exercises we will explore moving the body safely, efficiently, and dynamically throughout the space. There will be warming-in, phrase work, floorwork, and inversions, which are influenced by Countertechnique, release, and modern dance. Be ready to tune into your body's sensations and challenge yourself to think and move in new ways.
Nicole Oga (she/her/hers) is a radical thinking dance artist and educator who approaches her work through an intersectional lens that is influenced by abolition, liberation, anti-racist, black feminist praxis. In 2024 she graduated from the University of the Arts Helsinki with a Master's in Dance Pedagogy. Nicole is a constant student who believes life is a continuous journey of learning, growing, and evolving. In her work she regularly questions and evaluates her practices and methodologies to ensure she is inclusive and in true solidarity with her community - listening to, collaborating with, and following the lead of those who are most impacted. Nicole cultivates genuine empathy, compassion, and kindness, which she knows will transform the world into an equitable society where all are truly free.
Lauren: My class will progress from a floor warmup to standing exercises to phrasework that moves through the space and in/out of the floor. We will explore groundedness and buoyancy, stability and freedom, momentum and control. I am interested in flow, transitions, suspension, breath, and efficient use of energy. My aim is to foster a non-judgmental class culture, to allow space for individuality, and to encourage open awareness within the space.
