☆ Slow Flow ☆

Mindful movement for everybody

with Nicole Oga and Azul Lopez

Open Level

MONDAYS 6:30PM – 8:00PM

at TranscenDANCE, 5700 El Cajon Blvd.

Slow Flow Class Description

Slow Flow is an open level space (no experience required) to explore the fundamentals of movement in community. Incorporating yogic and somatic teachings, we will cultivate embodied awareness by moving through improvisational inquiries. Through mindful movement, we will investigate movement pathways that support ease and safety. You will be invited to move laying down, sitting, or standing. Props, such as chairs, yoga mats, blankets, and blocks are available for use. Come as you are, leave with a grounded spaciousness in the body/heart/mind.

Access

  • Face masks provided by DISCO RIOT
  • Slow Flow classes focus on making dance and movement accessible for people of all movement levels and abilities with the invitation to move sitting down, laying down, or standing up at any moment. Participants are also welcome to use a chair if needed.

DISCO RIOT classes are on a tiered payment scale ($10-30) because we believe that class should be affordable and accessible. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Please reach out to Nicole at education@discoriot.org for a waiver code.

In alignment with the values of DISCO RIOT, this class centers access, bodily autonomy, consent, and the cultivation of safe(r) community space in an ADA accessible studio. During the RSVP process, there will be a chance to share any access needs you may have. Please reach out to Alyssa at operations@discoriot.org for further accommodation inquiries or requests.

If you have any questions about our classes or educational programming at large, please reach out to Nicole at education@discoriot.org.

IMPORTANT: Please complete this TranscenDANCE Participation Waiver Form before class. If you require support with filling out the forms, please reach out to education@discoriot.org. DISCO RIOT can also assist at the studio prior to the start of class. This form only needs to be completed one time. Please complete the Waiver in full.
