The Kitsap DRC is excited to offer this 3-day, 22-hour hands-on training!

This training will contain all the required information and practice for mediators seeking to become certified to mediate DV cases at the Kitsap DRC. No prior experience or training, besides the Basic Mediation Training, is necessary. The intent of this training is familiarizing participants with the particular challenges that DV dynamics present to victims, children, and to mediators, and to prepare mediators to implement protocols that protect both the integrity of the mediation process and the safety and wellbeing of mediators and clients.

This training will take place Thursday, September 7th-Saturday September 9th, 2023 8:30am-5pm. Lunch is provided.

ALL DAYS OF THIS TRAINING WILL BE IN PERSON. COVID safety protocols such as masking and social distancing may be required depending on attendee needs and public health recommendations.

Highlights will include:

  • A Survivor’s Story
  • Resources for Survivors
  • Power Dynamics in DV
  • Law Enforcement and DV
  • Impact of Domestic Abuse on Children
  • Screening for DV
