How to build a world made of illustrations to tell brands' stories
with Giulia Zoavo, illustrator, graphic and icon designer
About the workshop
During the workshop, we will explore the importance of illustration as a key part of a brand's visual identity, and we will learn the basis for understanding and developing an illustration system and its guidelines. The workshop is for professional illustrators as long as anyone who works with images and wants to learn more about the subject. The course includes practical tests and review sessions in the classroom, plus some guided exercises to be completed at home.
About Giulia Zoavo
Giulia is a freelance illustrator, graphic and icon designer. Since 2011 she has been drawing and designing for magazines, agencies, non-profit organizations and international companies. Since 2017 she lives in New York, where she collaborated, among others, with Sagmeister & Walsh, Adobe, Quarto Group and Ahoy Studios. Her work has been awarded and exhibited in Europe, Mexico and the United States, and has appeared in various iconic locations in Manhattan, including the Rockefeller Rink and the Link screens in Times Square.

Better to know
Knowledge of the principles of graphics and illustration (theory of color, fundamentals and basic terminology of graphic design).

3:30 - 5.00 pm Workshop presentation, Talk 1 (what is an illustration system, illustration styles, presentation of references/case studies, basics of design and development)
