The District of Spain Mark is pleased to announce the details of our Grand Assembly weekend which will be held on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th February 2026 at the Gran Bali Hotel, La Cala, Playa Poniente (Benidorm), Alicante, Spain.

Following our previous enjoyable assemblies, we will maintain a similar format for the weekend. To make the most of the event, the District recommends that attendees check in at the Gran Bali Hotel around midday on Friday 6th February, and stay until at least the evening of Saturday 7th February, if possible. The hotel offers preferential rates for attendees, applicable regardless of the length of stay. Booking details are included in the booking confirmation and can also be found at the bottom of this page.

The weekend’s activities start on Friday 6th February at 5:30pm, with an illustrated and informative talk by W.Bro. Mike Neville who's a retired Detective Chief Inspector from New Scotland Yard, Mike has unparalleled expertise in using imagery, such as CCTV, to catch criminals. He founded the world’s first Super Recogniser unit, revolutionising offender identification, and now assists law enforcement agencies in locating their own Super Recognisers.

Following W.Bro. Mike Neville, the District Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Barrie Roy Mansell, invites all Mark men and their families and friends who are attending the District weekend to a welcome drinks reception within the Gran Bali Hotel. This is an informal get together and will be a great chance to catch up with old friends as well as make new ones.

Saturday 7th February is the morning of the official Grand Assembly of the Mark District of Spain meeting. This will be held in the “Crystal Auditorium” of the Gran Bali Hotel. Brethren are asked to be seated for the meeting no later than 10.30am. Tea, coffee and water will be available from 9:00am in the area reserved for dressing before the meeting.

After the meeting there will be a Festive Board held in the Gran Bali Hotel starting at 2pm.  Brethren will enjoy a tapas selection of Iberian ham and cured cheese, scallops with ratatouille, yakitori chicken skewers with soy sauce, beef carpaccio with parmesan, Idiazábal croquettes with boletus, and salmon blinis with guacamole. This will be followed by a lemon sorbet with cava, before a main course of beef sirloin steak with sautéed asparagus and gratin potato millefeuille, or a fish option of sole filled with shrimps. The meal will conclude with a three-chocolate dessert and coffee. Water, soft drinks, beer, and red and white wine are also included.

While the Brethren enjoy their meeting and Festive Board on Saturday, partners and friends are invited to join a delightful excursion and meal. Departing from Hotel Gran Bali in the morning and returning later in the afternoon, this event promises a wonderful day out for all. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore and appreciate the hidden gems and unique facilities near the area that tourists often overlook.
