Workshop Overview

Leading Inclusive Conversations is an interactive workshop designed for leaders, managers and professionals who want to strengthen their ability to navigate challenging conversations, build trust across differences and foster inclusive workplace cultures. Through practical examples, discussion and proven frameworks, participants will develop the confidence, skills and strategies needed to communicate effectively, support colleagues, challenge inappropriate behaviours and drive meaningful change.

This 2-hour interactive workshop explores:

  • Building confidence to navigate sensitive workplace conversations
  • Understanding how identity, lived experience and intersectionality shape workplace experiences
  • Recognising and addressing bias, exclusion and discrimination
  • Developing practical allyship and active bystander skills
  • Managing challenging situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Creating tangible actions that contribute to inclusive workplace cultures

Please note that this workshop will not be recorded. This is to protect the privacy of all participants and enable freer discussions.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

Cancellations made 14 days or more before the start of the workshop will be fully refunded. Cancellations made 13 days or less before the start of the workshop will not be refunded.

Substitutions are permitted up to 48 hours before the start of the workshop. Substitutions must be received via email to info@idnuclear.com .

Monica Mwanje

Founder & Managing Director, Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear (IDN)

Managing Director, MM Creative Solutions

Monica  holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and has over 20 years of delivery experience, gained primarily in the civil nuclear sector.

Monica works with organisations to build more inclusive cultures, develop effective leaders and deliver sustainable organisational change.

Through IDN, she has delivered sector-first initiatives such as the UK nuclear industry’s gender pay gap report and EDI benchmarks.

Monica has delivered EDI training, consultancy and strategic advice nationally and internationally across sectors including nuclear, higher education, local government, education, arts and heritage. She works with boards, leadership teams and professionals to develop practical approaches to inclusive leadership, workplace culture and organisational effectiveness.

Monica also holds an ILM Level 7 qualification in Executive Coaching and Mentoring, supporting leaders to navigate complex challenges, strengthen leadership capability and drive meaningful change.

Shazney Spence

Life Architect, Executive Coach, Facilitator & Inclusion and Leadership Advisor

Shazney Spence is an experienced coach, facilitator and leadership advisor who has spent over two decades working with individuals, leaders and organisations to create meaningful, sustainable change.

Her work sits at the intersection of leadership, inclusion, wellbeing and personal transformation, helping people navigate difference, build confidence in challenging conversations and create environments where people feel seen, heard and able to contribute.

Known for bringing warmth, honesty and humanity into the room, Shazney creates spaces where difficult conversations can be explored with curiosity rather than fear. Her approach combines practical leadership experience with coaching, emotional intelligence and a deep understanding of the human dynamics that influence trust, belonging and behaviour.

Shazney has worked across corporate, public and third-sector organisations and has held senior advisory and board positions within the nuclear industry and beyond. She has contributed to initiatives focused on inclusion, organisational culture, leadership development and employee wellbeing, and has facilitated conversations with people at all levels of organisations.

Alongside her corporate work, Shazney is the Founder of EQuanimity Lifestyle & Success Coaching, where she works as a Life Architect, supporting people to reconnect with their identity, confidence and purpose and create lives and careers that feel authentically their own.

At the heart of Shazney’s work is a simple belief: real inclusion begins with our willingness to have real conversations, especially when those conversations feel uncomfortable.
