Private Viewing: The Art School Dance Goes On Forever
De Montfort University are excited to invite you to a special preview of ‘The Art School Dance Goes On Forever’. This is an exhibition celebrating the incredible creatives who studied at Leicester College of Art in the 60s (later Leicester Polytechnic in 1969, and De Montfort University in 1992).
Join us on 6th February from 5:30pm for an exclusive private viewing before the exhibition opens to the public.
Running from 7th February to 14th March, the exhibition highlights how the College became a hub of innovation in the 1960s, inspiring a ‘golden’ generation of artists who made a global impact in fashion, illustration, photography, music, and more.
One of the highlights is a section dedicated to The Farinas, a popular mod band formed by Art College students, who later became the influential progressive rock band Family.
We’d love for you to come along and celebrate Leicester’s creative legacy with us!
