DOCo#004: FORGOTTEN CRISIS

We look forward to hosting this work-in-progress screening and feedback session of the documentary film, “Forgotten Crisis” directed by Sarah Grice.

Forgotten Crisis - SYNOPSIS

In Pagirinya 1 Refugee Camp in Uganda, Moses, a South Sudanese refugee, faces the challenge of creating sustainable solutions for himself and his community as the rest of the world has forgotten they exist. The camp, plagued by food insecurity, poor access to education, and tribal tensions, is a place of both struggle and resilience. As a leader, Moses steps up to provide hope and solutions for his community, despite the ever-present uncertainty about whether they will return home. Alongside his brother-in-law, Santos, who has also taken in unaccompanied minors, Moses works to unify different tribes, educate children, and develop sustainable projects like greenhouses and vocational training. The film captures the daily realities, struggles, and the enduring spirit of refugees, painting a picture of resilience and hope. Moses hopes for a brighter future led by the next generation.

FEEDBACK SESSION

We will screen a work-in-progress version of this film, followed by an informal feedback session where all attendants will be encouraged to give feedback and thoughts to help the filmmaker improve their next cut.

The feedback session will be hosted and facilitated by DOCo members, and we aim to make the space feel safe, open and the feedback constructive and critical. Please come and join us in shaping the future of the film.
