DOCo#023: THE KING OF SCOTLAND

This month we are hosting a work-in-progress screening and feedback session of the film, “The King of Scotland” directed by singer- songwriter, poet, and filmmaker Liam Baker.

The evening will begin with a screening of Liam's film poetry and live performance! followed by The King of Scotland and an open feedback session.

THE KING OF SCOTLAND - SYNOPSIS (FEEDBACK FILM)

Crowned the "King of Scotland" at age six, Danny dedicated his life to something far less ordinary. Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Vagabond, he threw off the shackles of conventional society—helped along by a vast amount of LSD in his youth that stripped away what he saw as routine brainwashing.

The result? A relentless life of freedom, high-stakes scrapes, and unbelievable adventures, including a brutal three-year stint in one of Morocco’s worst jails. Yet, looking back with zero regrets and infectious laughter, Danny proves that a life lived entirely on your own terms is the ultimate trip.

FEEDBACK SESSION

Following the screening we will have an informal feedback session where attendants will be encouraged to give feedback and thoughts to help the filmmaker improve their next cut.

The feedback session will be hosted and facilitated by DOCo members, and we aim to make the space feel safe, open and the feedback constructive and critical. Please come and join us in shaping the future of the film.

People of all backgrounds and interests are welcome. Tickets are free.
