20th-century cycle through Edinburgh's Liberton

Our series of tours in Edinburgh to see 20th-century architecture continues with a cycle ride through the Liberton neighbourhood of Edinburgh. Join us on Saturday, 3rd October, to see and learn about a range of existing and former buildings, including housing and various forms of civic infrastructure.

The cycle ride will be guided by the architectural historian Clive B. Fenton and the conservation architect Carsten Hermann, both committee members of Docomomo Scotland.

We'll meet at 12:30 on Kirk Brae at Liberton Fire Station -now demolished as reported in our last newsletter- and cycle southwards, cutting across to Alnwickhill and ending, for those who like a drink, at the Stables Bar of Mortonhall House.

Tickets cost £7 / concession £5 / Docomomo members £3 and must be bought in advance. Please note that this is a cycle ride of about 3 miles, for which you must bring your own bicycle. You are responsible for your own safety during this cycle ride. We highly recommend wearing a cycle helmet.
