Paint the Town Red 🎨⚽

Fancy trying something different? Come along, pick up a paintbrush and create your own Wrexham and football-inspired artwork in a relaxed, friendly session.

Paint the Town Red is a fun, guided painting session for adults of all ages, from 16 to 60+, who are currently out of work.

You do not need to be artistic, you don’t need to know anything about painting and you definitely don’t need to worry about being “good” at it!

Our friendly local artist Mikey Jones - Mikey Jones Art | Home will guide you through creating your own painting step by step, so you can relax, have a chat, meet some new people and see what you can create.

What to expect 🎨

During the session you’ll:

• Be guided through creating your own Wrexham football-inspired painting
• Learn some simple painting techniques
• Have all the materials you need provided
• Meet other people in a relaxed and welcoming environment
• Enjoy light refreshments
• Take your finished painting home with you

Whether you’re a huge football fan, casually follow Wrexham, or just fancy giving painting a go, you’re very welcome.

No previous painting or art experience is needed.

This isn’t an art class where everyone is expected to produce a perfect painting. It’s about having a go, trying something you might not normally do and hopefully surprising yourself along the way.

Who can take part?

This session is funded through the Communities for Work+ Trailblazer programme and is specifically aimed at people who are currently out of work and aged 16+.

That could mean you’re 18 and figuring out what comes next, in your 30s or 40s and currently between jobs, or 60+ and looking for something new to get involved with.

There is no upper age limit. If you meet the eligibility criteria and fancy giving it a go, we’d love to have you.

Everything is provided

We’ll provide your canvas, paints, brushes and everything else you need to take part.

Just bring yourself, wear something you don’t mind getting the occasional splash of paint on, and be ready to have a go.

You’ll leave with your very own piece of artwork to take home.

Pick up a brush. Try something different. Paint the Town. 🔴🎨
