FREE practical haircare skills for people who care
Ever found yourself responsible for somebody else's hair and thought, "I haven't got a clue what I'm doing"?
You're definitely not alone.
Hair We Go! is a relaxed, friendly and completely FREE practical workshop in Wrexham, for women and men aged 16+ who live in Wrexham but are not working. It's particularly open to men who care for children, partners or parents as we know that it can be daunting trying to learn about haircare without help. We will be providing a light lunch and drinks and you don't need any previous experience. We're starting with the basics and getting hands-on.
Who is it for?
Hair We Go! is for people aged 16+ who want to learn new skills.
You might be:
- Someone wanting to feel more confident doing their child's hair
- Grandparents looking after grandchildren
- Someone supporting a partner
- Caring for an older parent or relative
- Someone interested in working with hair in the future
- Or simply someone who wants to learn a new skill
What will I learn?
During the session we'll explore:
• How to comb and detangle hair
• How to section hair
• Simple plaiting techniques
• Understanding different hair types and hair porosity
• Everyday hair maintenance
• Recognising when it's time to call in the professionals and visit a barber or hairdresser
You'll have the opportunity to practise using training heads and you'll be making a hair or scalp mask that you can take home with you too.
Absolutely no hair experience required
This isn't hairdressing school and there will be no judgement, the session is all about asking questions and having some time to practice, building your confidence and meeting other people in a relaxed environment.
