Description
McKinney HR works with many charities and third sector employers, so we have been hearing about the extensive reduction in funding and now there are also increases in employer costs being implemented next year, through the changes to employer National Insurance. The cuts and cost increases will likely mean significant changes for some charities and third sector employers, with some considering a restructure, redundancies or even closure.
As many small charities don’t have internal HR support, we wanted to dedicate one of our free lunchtime webinars to this topic. Rona Loweth, Sr HR Business Partner will share expert HR knowledge, guidance and top tips for navigating significant change such as restructure, redundancies or closure.
We are delighted to have Glenn Liddall, Founder of People Know How, an Edinburgh based charity joining as a guest speaker. People Know How was forced to close in October 2024 due to drastic funding cuts. Glenn will share his experience in navigating the challenges of implementing rapid and significant changes, while balancing the needs of users, employees and volunteers.
In conversation with Glenn, we will look at
- Headlines on status of Funding in Charity & Third Sector
- Forecasted challenges and Impacts
- Case Study – Reflections on The People Know How Experience
- Assessing options to avoid redundancies
- The legal obligations for consulting on restructure or redundancy
- Top Tips for managing organisational change sensitively & minimise impact on employees and volunteers
- Signposting to useful information
There will be an opportunity to ask Rona and Glenn questions during this session.
