Make your own hand marbled mirror frame!
You will learn the process of water marbling using acrylic inks, have fun practising on paper and working out which techniques and colour combinations you like before dipping the wood which will be expertly constructed into a mirror for you to keep.
What will we do?
A small introduction to water marbling, including examples throughout history and modern
applications. Demonstration and explanation of various techniques.
Roughly 45 mins of practice time, producing unique prints on paper which will be dried and
pressed and presented alongside your finished mirror, and practice with wood scraps.
Dipping the “final piece” - strips of the prepared lime wood which will form the frame of
your mirror.
The wood will be dried overnight and assembled in the Hung Up Frames workshop into
your mirror, which will then be available for collection on the following Friday.

Carrageenan is a natural substance made from Irish moss seaweed. If you have potential allergies to
either of these materials, I can provide gloves and goggles but please be aware of any risks to
yourself.
