Design and make a unique piece of silver jewellery!

Level: Suitable for All!

What we'll cover: We will begin the workshop with a brief intro to the jewellery design process and look at some ready made samples to boost your imagination.

You will then go on to apply your own unique textures to metal using a range of hammers and punches, and rolling mills.

Next, you will learn how to saw-pierce shapes out of sheet metal using a jewellers saw.

The skills you've learnt will then be applied to making your final design in silver. Appropriate fttings for pendants or pins will be soldered on using a hand-held torch.

Lastly, we will fnish off your creation with the appropriate polishing techniques.

What to bring: We’ll provide all the tools and materials you will need to make a silver pin or pendant. Please bring along glasses if you need them and wear appropriate clothing for a studio environment including closed-toe shoes. If you have long hair, please wear it up.

When? Thursday, 25th May 4pm - 7.30pm 

Occasionally, the classes may run over due to the complexity of the designs. Please allow up to 30min buffer time at the end of the class.

We are located in the centre of Dundee, a short walk from all transport links to the City Centre. Just down the road from the McManus Galleries and DC Thomsons, diagonally across from the Howff.

Cancellations Policy: Ieva Jankovska reserves the right to cancel your workshop due to unexpected circumstances. If we cancel your workshop, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. If you cancel more than two weeks prior to the start of the course, the workshop fee will be refunded minus a £20 administration charge. If you cancel your place less than two weeks before the start of the course, your fees will not normally be refundable, unless in exceptional circumstances where we may offer a full or partial refund or alternative date.
