Cyber Security and Digital Preservation
Cyber crime is continuing to rise in these disrupted and uncertain times. Ensuring our data remains safe is of critical concern to our community. Cyber security techniques are an essential tool in the defence of our digital collections, but restrictive security might hinder as well as help our cause. This event will dig into the concerns, issues and myths at the intersection of cyber security and digital preservation, and guide the digital preservationist through this complex and confusing subject.
This online event will begin with an introduction to cyber security before exploring the process of responding to and recovering from a security breach. We'll then delve deeper into a range of digital preservation issues that are dependent, on or influenced by, cyber security.
Speakers will include: David Batho (Jisc), Ange Albertini (Google), Jeanne Kraymer-Smyth (World Bank Group), David Clipsham (Preservica), Daniel Chadash (Twist Bioscience) and more!
