Recognizing, Responding, and Preventing Harm Against Older Adults.

This three-module training provides service providers, advocates, and community professionals with a foundational understanding of sexual violence against older adults. Grounded in trauma- and violence-informed practice, the course explores the unique dynamics, risk factors, and systemic barriers that shape older adults’ experiences, including ageism, social isolation, and gaps in services.

Participants will gain practical skills to recognize signs of abuse, respond safely and supportively to disclosures, and contribute to prevention efforts within their roles and organizations. Through real-world case examples and reflective learning, this training supports participants in fostering dignity, challenging stigma, and creating safer, more inclusive environments for older adults.

Who is this for? Any service providers, advocates, and community professionals who may work with or support older adults in a variety of settings.
