Dance Meets Tantra x New York City 3 - An Ecstatic Immersion
Sat Nov 9, 2024 10:45 AM - 8:00 PM
Gibney Studios
Description
New York City! We always have such an incredible time diving deep with you on the dance and - as promised, we're back for more this November! And arriving to the New York area dance community for the 4th time!
We can't wait to reconnect with the incredible dance and tantra tribe of NYC <3
We are coming to let go of our masks, build our capacity and explore the vulnerable, messy, sweaty, beauty of our bodies, hearts, & souls. Led by an attentive and powerful facilitation team, we will establish a trauma-informed foundation of consent, care and self-responsibility to reveal and play with our aliveness and our greatest capacity for authenticity, sensuality, connection and creativity.
We are brimming over with FULL F*CK YES to bring this magic to the potent NYC community.
So, what is Dance Meets Tantra?
DMT - birthed in Boulder, CO and touring around the country - has been a sold-out monthly immersion that explores the intersection of dance, transformation, tantra, contact improv, ritual theatre, and shadow-work. It is truly a transformational journey and emerging body of work committed to creating safer spaces for individuals to embrace their own wholeness (the dark and the light) while co-creating a collective group consciousness that is far greater than the sum of its parts.
Perhaps you’ve been feeling the call. For dance to evolve, deepen, and become more energetically attuned. For tantra to be more embodied, playful & activated. You intuitively know something incredible is possible when embodied movers come together with full permission to be alive, connect, and share their magic.
A note on "tantra": for us - tantra is the practice and art of being fully alive. Our intention with Dance Meets Tantra is to support people in coming into greater love, respect and relationship with themselves, each other, and the earth. We believe that dance, eros and tantra are fundamental aspects of being alive, empowered, and creative - so we invite various explorations in support of liberating our creativity and life force.
Dance Meets Tantra is a space of:
- Vulnerability: to be fully alive we need to get real. We create safer spaces to compassionately own and get present to the full range of our emotions, fears, blocks and discomfort.
- Permission: to be the full expression of ourselves - including our sensual and erotic nature - however that looks.
- Safety: boundaries, consent, attunement, and self-responsibility are essential to navigating safe space together.
About the event:
This is an opportunity to spend a day moving, breathing, learning and loving together with an incredible group of embodied humans.
We will create a container and explore profound tantra and movement-based workshops that build upon each other over the course of the immersion.
You will depart this experience deeply connected with a beautiful tribe and feeling fully alive, on fire, and ready to bring new ways of being, connecting, and creating into the rest of your life.
Diverse Backgrounds Partial Scholarship
At Dance Meets Tantra we understand that various forms of privilege can play a role in financial access to our containers. We believe that diversity is an important aspect of building a truly transformational journey and we desire to impact and support all people with our work. We are providing partial scholarships to support individuals from diverse backgrounds to be able to participate. Partial scholarships are generally about 50% the cost of a regular priced ticket.

Testimonials:
"Today was a full reclamation of the innocence of eros. I am so grateful." - Kat
"It’s truly hard to put into words the profundity of what took place at the dance meets tantra retreat. There was an undeniable intelligence moving through each day that organized the field in the exact ways it needed. Moving through layers of shadow and alchemizing them into wholeness. Each person brought a piece to the puzzle that was incredibly important and the collective healing that unfolded was beyond anything I have ever been a part of. This container allowed it all to be there - tenderness, pleasure, joy, grief, beauty, pain, ecstasy, heartbreak, heart opening. I felt deeply safe in this container (and it takes a lot for me to feel safe) and a huge reason for that is the high quality presence and care each of the facilitators brought. It really was such a special experience that I will forever hold in my heart with deep gratitude and reverence." - Anaia Sundara
"DMT empowered me to be in greater contact with my "yes's" and "no's." This container gave me permission to participate in the exact ways that I was ready for, and not push myself beyond my comfort zone in a way that was unsustainable. By the end, I had such a fun time liberating my weird/ wild/ kinky/ primal self on the dance floor and relate with others in a way that is rare to find in common dance spaces. I am forever grateful for this space and what Danny, Atilla, and Spencer are creating. Also, their facilitation is ON POINT. Raw, real, potent, and just as human as the rest of us. Give yourself the gift of DMT. :)" - Erica Shapiro
"It's rare that I go to something that is truly life-changing & empowering, and our Dance Meets Tantra day together was exactly that. It was one of the greatest days of personal growth, fun, and sensual exploration I've ever had." - Jason Lamb
"Dance Meets Tantra awakened a deeper part of my authentic soul that knows her wildness in the heart of community. It has inspired my creatress soul awake in new light, igniting my inspiration, creating new channels of my own power to roar through my whole being.... alive. My deepest prayer is to enchant this world into it's fullest, most beautiful expression.... Dance Meets Tantra is a gateway to just that. Thank you for sharing the art and the medicine of this work." - Kathena Marie
"Dance Meets Tantra is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before…and I can’t stop thinking about it! If you want to embrace your authentic self, learn techniques to connect more deeply with loved ones, create new intimate connections, and are ready to dive deep into your fears and desires, then I highly recommend checking out one of their events! Don’t be surprised if it changes your outlook on yourself and relationships, it's intense, but so worth it!" - Nicole Nichole
"My power is in confronting my shadows, my pleasure is in embracing my pain. This is the sexiest I’ve felt in my life. Who have I become? The sacred slut that I already am. Thank you <3." -Michelle Sun
"Dance meets Tantra exceeded my expectations. I felt truly supported on such a deep level that I got to share the depth of pain with the eyes and hearts of love and be truly held by community in a way that allowed me to open to the divine. DMT builds safety in connection! You practice expressing your full self, even the parts of you that are afraid, and let your nervous system learn that you are loved just as you are! This space is potent, fun, explorative, and deeply supportive. I personally got to open deeply because of the level of skillful support that was available in the space. I have a lot of experience with this type of work, and have had a lot of criticisms in the past. This team was able to hold me on the level I was truly needing, so I could open to a new level." - Aya Amrita
"Dance Meets Tantra is a refreshing leap into the depths of desire, emotion, connection, and intrinsic play that all humans share yet rarely have the chance to express, especially in a community setting. First and foremost, it is held in a supportive, consenting, loving, and playful container with true integrity. The facilitators are experienced, clear, and empathetic. The utilization of de-armoring connection through dance (with demonstrative instruction, permission, and practice) is an incredibly effective prerequisite for opening more deeply into the intimate, vulnerable, revealing, emotionally raw, and activatingly energetic experience of engaging in tantric exercises and practices. There was truly not one of us who felt unsafe in participating and exploring the boundaries of our edges in sovereignty. We were encouraged to dig deep into our blockages, conditions, projections, desires, and even traumas through processes that allowed us to open up in ways that were nourishing, healing, intimate, sexy, and incredibly fun. By the end of the day we were a tight-knit community sharing gratitude, often in tears of joy, to be able to have experienced something so very needed in the midsts of repression that has led to so many unhealthy manifestations of the human sexual experience in our time. I am grateful that this work, and this play, is being done and I hold it as a high priority in our collective movement forward as embodied, integral, healthy vibrant beings tapping more and more into our true nature—connection, celebration, authenticity, vulnerability, while honoring the inherently sexy source from which we all came." - Jeremy Taragape
Thank you, thank you. Can't wait to connect. ~
