In this series, taking place over 5 2-hour sessions, students will learn how to draw the human figure with an emphasis on proportion, shape, form and movement.

We focus on basic proportions and proper construction of the human form as well as light and shadow, contour, line, and composition. In-studio drawing exercises are enhanced by demonstrations of how to simplify and assemble the more complex areas of the body. The last 2 sessions includes drawing a live nude figure model. 

We don't cover color or color theory, but rather focus on value in black and white. Tools utilized primarily include compressed charcoal, vine charcoal, conté, erasers, blending stumps and newsprint — all supplied by Drawn Studio.

Class Policy:

Cancellation Policy: Drawn Studio reserves the right to cancel, combine, or reschedule classes to adjust for enrollment. If Drawn Studio cancels a class, you may transfer to another class or receive a full refund.

Refund Policy: Notice of withdrawal from a workshop must be made at least 14 days prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be given for withdrawals made after that time. No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed due to illness, personal conflict, or other reasons. There are no exceptions to this policy.
