In this workshop, students explore the timeless art of portraiture and learn how to draw a true likeness of the human face.

The workshop keys in on the four major facial features: eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Through guided exercises and drawings from different points of view, students begin to see these features as three-dimensional forms rather than flat shapes.

We’ll talk about basic anatomy in a way that helps students understand how structure and proportion create realism and personality. The focus is on shape, form, and value in black and white, helping students train their eyes to see light and shadow more clearly.

All materials are provided, including charcoal, conté, erasers, blending stumps, and newsprint.

This workshop is ideal for teens who want to grow their drawing skills and experience the rewarding process of bringing faces to life on paper.

With only eight spots available, each participant receives personalized attention and guidance from the instructor as requested.

Easels, drawing boards, and art supplies provided.

Please bring a snack or lunch, as time will be carved out to eat.
