The workshop is part anatomy, part formula, part observation. You'll learn the underlying structure, a repeatable way to build it on the page, and how to actually see it in a live model. We'll cover how the pelvis tilts and rotates in response to weight distribution, how that tilt drives everything above and below it, and why the flat-pelvis problem persists even in artists who've been drawing for years.

You'll learn to see the pelvis as a solid block, not a flat shape, and how that block sets the tone for the whole pose above and below it. We'll break down weight-bearing leg vs. free leg: how the hip drops on the side holding the weight, how the spine curves to balance it out, and a simple way to mark those points on the page instead of guessing at the outline. Then we'll look at how the muscle around the hips and glutes shifts and wraps depending on the pose, so the figure reads as real weight and volume instead of a flat cutout.

Bring your sketchbook and a sense of humor. You'll leave finally knowing your ass from your elbow.

Format: Live model, slide presentation, instructor-led demonstration + drawing time
Level: All levels welcome (some figure drawing experience helpful)
