"My Love?" & "Light A Fire In Me" World Premiere Event

A World Premiere Double Bill: MY LOVE? + Light a Fire in Me

Join us for a night of independent Hawaii filmmaking as writer-director David Rowlands unveils two new works, both making their world premiere on the big screen. This double bill pairs a haunting short with a feature-length noir thriller, both born from the same creative vision.

The evening opens with "MY LOVE?", a psychological horror short that follows a couple questioning what is real after a psychological experiment goes south. Starring Kyla Hee & Ta'imua, the film has a runtime of 15 minutes.

From there, the night moves into "Light a Fire in Me", a noir psychological thriller set in early-2000s Honolulu. Shot & produced in Honolulu in June 2025. The feature stars Kahiau Machado, Jacqueleen Miramontes, & Cheyenne Valentine and has a runtime of 1 hour 25 minutes.

Both films were written, directed, and edited by Rowlands, and share a common thread of tone, style, and psychological tension that makes them a natural pairing for one unforgettable evening. This will be the first time either film has ever been shown and we are excited about the energy that will be in the theater this evening.

We will have a Q & A with the cast/crew following the screening.

Seating is limited — don't miss your chance to be part of this night in film. Dress to impress!
