Kwesi Awotwi: Tree of Roots Screening and Talk

A curated event by Dulwich festival both, film screening and conversation exploring visual artist Kwesi Awotwi’s film “ Tree of Roots” discussing the specific themes and subject of Identity, culture and Heritage and how creating the film has informed his retrospective as an artist through his work.    

A documentary following British Ghanaian Artist returns home to his motherland Ghana after hearing the sad news of the death of his maternal Grandfather. During his time spent in Ghana, Kwesi travels around Accra, the capital of Ghana exploring and learning more about the arts and culture. The journey inspires Kwesi to produce an art piece, representing his reflection of his experience whilst revisiting his roots.
