Join us on Saturday 9th January 2027 for a night steeped in tradition at the Dunham Apples Wassail.

Held in our orchard at Boundary Farm, Sawpit Street, Wassail is an ancient celebration of good health, community and the hope for a bountiful apple harvest in the year ahead.

Starting from 4:00 PM, expect an evening of fire, music, food, cider and plenty of noise in the heart of the orchard.

What to Expect

🔥 Torch-lit Procession
As the evening begins, gather for our torch-lit procession through the orchard, led by the Bollin Morris. Together, we’ll make plenty of noise to ward off any unwanted spirits and wake the apple trees from their winter slumber.

🍎 Traditional Wassail Ceremony
We’ll gather amongst the trees for the traditional Wassail blessing, with songs, chants and a toast to Pomona, the apple goddess, as we wish the orchard good health and a fruitful harvest for the year ahead.

🎻 Live Music and Dancing
The Neezzupp Ceilidh Band will once again be bringing the music, alongside traditional Morris dancing and plenty of Wassail atmosphere.

🍲 Food and Drink
Food is included with your ticket, with a selection of warming winter dishes:

  • Spicy Beef Chilli
  • Pork and Cider Casserole
  • Chicken Casserole
  • Wood-fired pizza served buffet style

Your ticket also includes a warming mulled cider or apple juice, with additional drinks available to purchase throughout the evening.

❤️ Supporting Teenage Cancer Trust
Wassail is also an important fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust.

At Wassail 2026, thanks to everyone who attended and supported the evening, we raised an incredible £2,500 for the charity. We’d love to raise even more in 2027.

🎟️ Charity Raffle
Our charity raffle will return with a mixture of Dunham Apples prizes and brilliant prizes donated by local businesses.

All raffle proceeds will go to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Please bring cash for the raffle! The more tickets we sell, the more we can raise for a fantastic cause.

Ticket Prices

Adults: £18.50 per person + booking fee
Children aged 5–12: £10 per child + booking fee
Under 5s: Free entry, no booking required

Wassail has proven incredibly popular in previous years, so we strongly recommend booking in advance. We cannot accept walk-ins on the night.

Parking and Getting Here

Please be aware that parking at the Apple Barn is VERY limited.

Spaces will be available on a strictly first come, first served basis, and we cannot guarantee parking at the Apple Barn for everyone attending.

Where possible, we strongly recommend making alternative arrangements.

The Trans Pennine Trail Car Park on Sawpit Street can be used, and there may also be parking available on Back Lane near the Rope & Anchor.

Alternatively, consider travelling by public transport using the 280 bus.

Please plan your journey in advance and do not rely on being able to park at the Apple Barn, as spaces are extremely limited.

Please Note

Your ticket includes:

  • Entry to the Wassail
  • A drink of mulled cider or apple juice
  • A portion of food
  • A contribution towards our fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust

Additional donation opportunities will be available throughout the evening, including our charity raffle.

The event takes place outdoors in the orchard in January, so please dress warmly and wear suitable footwear. Expect uneven and potentially muddy ground.

Wassail is one of our favourite nights of the year and a brilliant way to come together, celebrate an old orchard tradition and hopefully give our apple trees the best possible start to 2027.

We look forward to welcoming you to Dunham Apples Wassail 2027! 🍎🔥
