Description
One Man, Two Guvnors
By Richard Bean
Based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni
Directors Peter Lerpiniere and Karen Thomas
Set in Brighton in the 60s this hilarious comedy is a classic tale of mistaken identity. The main character, Francis Henshall, failed skiffle band member with a penchant for food, women and money, is employed as minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small-time East End hood, but Roscoe is really his sister Rachel, posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Got it!
Greedy Francis also takes on a second job with Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be reunited with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Let the mayhem begin!
