Emotional Support for Change Makers: a neuro-resilience workshop delivered by Deirdre Morrison
Fri 19 Apr 2024 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM BST
Online, Zoom
Description
AN ORB MEMBER-LED EVENT DESIGNED TO SUPPORT OTHER ORB MEMBERS
In a world that needs the work of change makers, change makers also sometimes need to embrace some change. Sometimes the things we need to change are not always obvious, because they have been with us for so long that we accept them as truth.
In this workshop, we will look at the concept of ‘emotional math’ and how it impacts our reading of events, information, and situations. We’ll also look at how that reading impacts our resilience and personal resources.
Come along if you’re
- Interested in developing personal resources such as resilience and creative thinking
- Curious about how brain science can help change-makers
- Open to new resources to help on those days when seems like creating meaningful change isn’t possible
About Deirdre
Deirdre Morrison, founder of Neuro Creative Studio, brings brain science to life, making it relevant and applicable to our everyday challenges, through workshops, talks and training.
Drawing on a background of exceptional breadth, Deirdre helps participants join the dots between neuroscience and everyday life, sharing tools, tips and techniques to enhance our actions, reactions and interactions, to create happier, healthier, and more sustainable ways of life.
Currently, Deirdre divides her time between private practice via NeuroCreative Studio, and two non-profits - The NeuroDevelopment Institute and the Institute of Organisational Neuroscience’s NPN Hub. Deirdre is a former communications professional, with a degree in art & design. Her career includes almost two decades of building and supporting small businesses. She is a fully accredited coach, and holds a Master's certification in applied neuroscience, as well as having her programmes accredited by the CPDSO.
In her spare time, she enjoys recreational road cycling and the Japanese samurai sword art of Kendo. Among other things, she is trained in bookbinding and hand-stitched leather crafts. Her dream is to experience the silence of the anechoic chamber at Orfield Laboratories in Minneapolis but would settle for another afternoon in the Pantheon in Paris. She has two nearly grown children, who seem to be turning out fine, despite all the things she did wrong along the way.
Topics Deirdre speaks about regularly include:
- Neuroplasticity - changing brains
- Neuroscience for Culture Development (Organisational Applied Neuroscience)
- Resilience and The Personal Ecosystem
- Optimising the Multidimensional Brain
