Posh Fish and Chips at Clarence Yard

Join us for fantastic business networking and fabulous food in this iconic building in the heart of Southend.

Clarence Yard has an interesting history dating back to the late 19th century. In 2016 the building was purchased by Stockvale who restored it to its former glory, opening in October 2017 as a high quality family-friendly restaurant.

This is a business networking event and your opportunity to meet many local businesses, but I'm sure it will also be a very relaxed social event too. A list of delegates will be sent out the day before the event to help you maximise your networking.

Double Whammy events also supports the local community. Tickets for this event are £10 each, with £8 from each ticket sold going to out 'charity pot' which, for this event, supports the Southend Hospital Charity's For Wards Appeal; and N-Act, a local theatre group that users the power of stage play and interaction to inform and educate young people about important issues such as social media usage and gang culture. There will be short presentations but there will not be any raffles, auctions or any other fundraising activites on the day - apart from the "5 for 5" card draw (see below) which is optional.

If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation, this will be shared between the charities without any deductions whatsoever.

Format:

6:00 pm: Registration, welcome drink and networking

6:30pm: Presentations

7:00pm: Canapes to be served

8:15pm: Official event finish time, but you are welcome to continue networking / socialising for a while longer.

'5 for 5' This is totally optional and, apart from this delegates attending will not need any cash. No raffles, no auctions, no pestering you for money! 5 for 5 is basically a lucky dip. You'll put your business card and a fiver in a pot. Every penny of that £5 will go in to the charity pot. One business card will be drawn out and that winner will have the opportunity of giving a five minute presentation about their business to the audience. So be prepared, have a presentation ready to go (but no Powerpoint) - but make sure it is only five minutes. We'll be very strict!

Southend Hospital Charity For Wards Appeal

To mark the 20th Anniversary of the Southend Hospital Charitale Foundation, the For Wards Appeal aims to raise £500,000 for 20 transformational projects across 20 different areas of Southend Hospital.

N-Act

N-Act is a registered, non-proft community group that creates interactive theatre projects for schools and community groups. Their next project has been commissioned by Southend Police: Gang Crime in Southend and Essex.
