Flash, bang, wallop!  Half A Sixpence is a warm and witty musical based on H.G. Wells’ novel Kipps, telling the story of an ordinary young man whose life is turned upside down by an unexpected inheritance.

Arthur Kipps is a humble draper’s apprentice reunited with his childhood friend Ann, only for his sudden fortune to sweep him into high society, where he becomes engaged to the elegant Helen Walsingham. But wealth brings pressure, pretence and unhappiness, and Kipps soon realises that money cannot buy love. After losing his fortune, he discovers that what truly matters is staying true to himself – and to Ann.

This much-loved show is packed with humour, heart and unforgettable songs including “Half a Sixpence,” “Flash, Bang, Wallop!” and “If the Rain’s Got to Fall,” making it a joyous celebration of love, loyalty and finding where you belong.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International.
