This event will showcase research projects of ECRs which involve collaboration with non-academic external partners, including charities, governments and businesses. By reflecting on their journey of establishing contacts, networking and sustaining relationships and creating outputs, the workshop encourages participants to think about the purposes of public engagement, practicalities of reaching out to non-academic actors, and challenges in the process of collaboration or co-creation. Experienced researchers will also be present to share insights on strategies to mitigate the challenges. Through interactive workshops, this activity will equip ECRs with vital knowledge, tools, and connections to expand their research ideas and impact through collaboration with non-academic partners.
Collaborating with partners is now central to research. The outcome will enable ECR attendees/beneficiaries to gain important insights into the place of collaboration in research development, career development, and micro network developments (the three pillars of the BA ECR network).
