This workshop is the first in a series of events that we have teamed up with Vitae to deliver, focusing on providing a range of training skills for Early Career Researchers.
Workshop overview :
This workshop will encourage early career researchers to consider the career choices open to researchers beyond academia. We will explore the career paths and destinations of researchers outside of higher education, and how to find and identify opportunities. The workshop draws on robust research about the career destinations of doctoral graduates.
Participants will explore their career values and motivations to understand what drives their career decisions and how their research-developed skills and attributes can be transferred to a range of career options using the Vitae Researcher Development Framework employability lens. By the end of the workshop, participants will:
•Have a clearer understanding of the career options available to them.
•Be equipped to make informed decisions about their next steps.
•Built confidence to communicate their skills to employers beyond academia.
