The British Academy Early Career Researcher Network brings together ECRs across the humanities and social sciences disciplines, regardless of their funding source or background.
Please note that in order to book a ticket to attend this event you must be a member of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network, unless you have been invited directly by one of the event organisers. Event Description
Scotland Cluster presents Scotland Writing Extravaganza - a series of in-person writing retreats across Scotland, end of July - mid August.These events are designed to provide a flexible and structured environment where you can work on your writing projects/ grant applications/ readings or whatever you need to focus on alongside your peers, fostering a supportive and collaborative community of practice.
Objectives:
- Provide a structured and accountable space for ECRs to focus.
- Facilitate connections among ECRs within and across clusters.
- Inspire new ideas and fuel the passion for research through shared experiences and discussions.
Programme:
10:00-10:15 Welcome with tea & coffee (social)
10:15 - 10:30 Goal-setting
· 5 minutes personal goal setting
· 10 minutes in small groups discussing goals
10:30 - 11:45 Block 1 Writing
11:45 - 12:00 Stretch & Refresh if needed
12:00 - 13:00 Block 2 Writing
13:00 - 14:00 Lunch
14:00 - 15:00 Reviewing Goals (individually) and Block 3 writing
14:00 – 15:15 Coffee break
15:15 - 16:15 Block 4 Writing
16:15 – 16:30 Final check-in/end in group discussion
Light lunch and refreshments will be provided as well as travel reimbursements.
Please note that places for in-person writing events are very limited. Only sign up if you are certain you will be able to attend.
