Global Queer and Trans Histories Beyond Academia
Global Queer and Trans Histories Beyond Academia is a hybrid workshop taking place at the University of Glasgow (Clarice Pears Building, Seminar Room 102) on Tuesday 22 August 2023, 12-4.30pm. It brings together researchers—in particular early career researchers—and community educators, with a view to producing a collectively authored roadmap for collaboration. How can historians and community educators and activists work together to challenge prejudice, create community, and foster bright queer and trans futures? The workshop features two panels, including keynote papers by Cheryl Morgan (publisher, writer, LGBTQI+ educator) and Goran Stanivukovic (Professor of Early Modern English Literature and Cultural Studies at Saint Mary’s University). All participants will have the opportunity to discuss their research and receive advice on how to enhance its potential for impact and community outreach and to contribute to a roadmap for collaboration for queer researchers and community educators. The workshop has ten places for in-person attendance, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Please indicate if you are registering for attendance in-person or on Zoom via the registration portal.
