What if the city could be wilder, more alive, more connected, and what if you could help make it so?
The Pollinator Pilgrimage is a one-day journey along London's River Lea, in celebration of the launch of Wild Cities, a new programme by Initiative Earth growing pollinator corridors across the city, one neighbourhood at a time.
We will walk from Walthamstow Wetlands to Victoria Park along the River Lea, with citizens, songs and seeds.
As we move across streets, parks and overlooked in-between spaces, we'll visit community projects and gardens already breathing life back into the city, and we'll add to them. Together we'll sow seeds, make and plant seed offerings, and discover how small, collective actions can regenerate an urban landscapes, at scale.
Along the way, we'll encounter unexpected places — strange portals, sacred sites, and forgotten edges filled with possibility. A chance to see London differently, and to step into our role in shaping what it becomes.
Throughout the day, we will:
- Make and plant seed offerings in suitable urban spaces
- Learn about the vital role of pollinators and how to support them
- Share food, stories, song and moments of reflection
- Walk as a collective act of care, connection and regeneration
For lunch, we'll gather for a shared picnic with food prepared by the wonderful Fooditude.
This is a gentle, joyful act of regeneration — a way of weaving together people, places and nature across the city.
By taking part, you become part of a growing movement to support pollinators and bring life back into urban spaces, one step at a time.
