Mapping Your Calm - Calligraphy & Tea (Cambridge)
Mapping Your Calm — Calligraphy & Tea
Year of the Fire Horse Workshop
Cambridge • Sat 21 Feb 2026 • The Signal Box Centre CB2, 8 mins walk from train station
We often move from moment to moment without ever quite arriving. You might find yourself thinking your way through everything — analyzing, planning, or circling the same questions. But when the inner chatter never stops, you might be longing for a different way to meet yourself. One that doesn’t require more thinking.
This workshop offers two quiet hours to practice presence — not as a concept, but as something felt and lived.
You’ll Experience
🖌️ Writing Your 2026 Intention (The Art of Fai Ceon 揮春)
Using a traditional brush and ink on red paper, you will create your own Fai Ceon 揮春(Red paper with blessings). Historically, these are used to invite blessings and protect the home. In our circle, you will use this practice to write down your specific intention words or phrases for the new year. It’s not about "art"—it's about a decisive action taken with a single breath. You’ll take these home as a visible reminder to keep your intentions in your body, not just your head.
🍵 Mindful Tea Ceremony
To welcome the Fire Horse year, I’ll be serving warm Yunnan Black tea with Ginger and Red Dates. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we focus on warming the "center" to settle the mind and spirit. In times of transition, we need to warm our core first so we can stay rooted like a big tree. We will practice the art of pouring, holding, and tasting with full attention.
🌸 Sensory Body Mapping
Through gentle somatic guidance, we’ll notice where stress lives, where hesitation holds you, and where calm begins. You'll develop a steadier, more grounded quality of attention that you can carry back into your daily life.
You’ll Leave With
- Your own calligraphy artwork (Fai Ceon 揮春) featuring your 2026 intentions.
- A tiny daily habit to help you find peace in your mornings.
- A steadier, more grounded quality of attention you can access anywhere.
- A simple understanding of how ancient ritual and modern neuroscience work together to quiet the mind.
Not more information.
But practice that helps you feel lighter.

Your Facilitator:
Pauline grew up in Hong Kong learning food as medicine and seasonal wisdom from her Po Po (grandmother)—ginger tea before symptoms appeared, soups for prevention. When eczema taught her to listen to her body's messages, she rediscovered what her culture always knew: the body speaks clearly when we're willing to hear.
Now trained as a Body-Oriented Coach (The Somatic School, UK) in somatic psychology and Polyvagal Theory, she bridges ancestral practices with modern nervous system science—helping busy women find sustainable ways to regulate and reconnect with calm.

Kind Words:
"The energy was perfect—calm, warm, and welcoming. The day was perfect." — Charlene
"The whole session was great. The opportunity to just stop and be mindful is powerful in itself. But doing so in a safe environment with other women gave it more power." — Past Participant
"It was lovely working on the botanical art in silence alongside other like-minded women—the atmosphere felt calm and safe." — Mihaela
