Welcome!

The World Stone Skimming Championships are held on the stunning west coast island of Easdale in Scotland. An island blessed with millions of perfect skimming stones after The island's slate mining industrial past has left the island with perfect skimming stones and large, water filled quarries, one of which has created the world’s first stone skimming arena.

Along with being the spiritual home of stone skimming, the competition on Easdale serves as a vital community fundraising event.

Benefits of Volunteering

You will be a part of our volunteer team on the day, helping us to make the Championships a fantastic experience for all involved. We'll be keeping you up to date through email and phone communication in the lead up to the event and provide a full event briefing on the day. Plus, you'll also receive food and some goodies on the day!

There are some great benefits to volunteering including meeting new like-minded people, gaining new knowledge and skills and having a fun day out on the Scottish West coast!

What to Bring?

Please wear suitable clothing for being outside. You may be spending time walking and standing so please ensure you have appropriate footwear. We also suggest bringing:

• Fully charged mobile phone,
  
• Re-useable water bottle
  
• Suncream (yes... suncream!)
• A hot drink and lunch will be provided, but please bring additional food items.
  

Volunteer Roles

You will be a part of our volunteer team on the day, helping us to make the Championships a fantastic experience for all involved. As well as helping with car parking and marshalling, roles on the day could include:

• Registration and greeting
  
• Handing out competitor merchandise
• First aid
• Serving Refreshments
• And more!
