The Famous Post-Skim Party!

After a full day of skimming and glorious sunshine (cough!), it's time to celebrate... WSSC style! This year's evening entertainment comes in two magnificent halves... a traditional Ceilidh to warm up the dancefloor, followed by a spectacular set from the one and only DJ Magnificent Biscuits.

Ceilidh

Whether you're a seasoned reeler or have never dosey-doed in your life, our Ceilidh is the perfect way to get the evening started. Expect traditional Scottish dancing, plenty of laughter, and our caller Donna talking you through every step... no experience necessary. It's family friendly through and through, so bring the kids, bring your granny, and give it a go!

Then our DJ Takes Over

Once the Ceilidh winds down, returning DJ Magnificent Biscuits steps up to keep the energy going long into the night. Magnificent Biscuits is the guise of DJ Scott McBride, who has been spinning his incredible record collection at bars, clubs, festivals, and parties across the UK for nearly 30 years. Before moving to Scotland, he regularly played alongside legends like DJ Spoony, Nightmares on Wax, Norman Jay, and Luke Una, holding residencies at award-winning venues.

The 'Magnificent Biscuits' concept began six years ago as a London radio platform and has been broadcasting internationally ever since, now finding a home on Soul Roots Radio, which Scott co-owns. Heavily influenced by the great, late John Peel, the idea is to dig deep into an eclectic record collection where nothing is off-limits, as long as it's magnificent!

Every live set is a wonderful journey full of exciting, varied sounds. Like a musical selection box, you might hear Disco, Funk, and '80s classics meet Nigerian Boogie or South African Kwaito. South American Merengue might melt into Brazilian Samba or tropical sounds from islands far away.
From traditional reels to global grooves, this year's evening has something for everyone... all sounds (and steps) guaranteed to get you up and dancing.
