Cathy Shelbourne has kindly agreed to give us another talk in the remarkable Unitarian Meeting House in Ipswich. After the talk there'll be an opportunity to chat and catch up over tea and cake!
This year's talk is about the Mayflower and its local connections: Where was The Mayflower built? Where did the passengers come from? Are you one of their descendants?
We'll meet at 3pm at the Unitarian Meeting House, Friars Street Ipswich IP1 1TD.

About Cathy
Cathy has given us two fascinating talks - the first concerning Thomas Cavendish and more recently regarding Admiral Philip Broke. Cathy is a very experienced public speaker and writer. She won the Toastmasters International Divisional Contest for best evaluator in 2010, and best table topics speaker in 2019. Cathy was a finalist in the first contests to be held online. She also mentors and coaches individuals in presentation skills.
Cathy has combined her experience in public speaking with her interest in maritime history. She is a member of the Yachting Journalists’ Association (YJA), and the Society for Nautical Research (SNR); and is Editor of the Ipswich Maritime Trust (IMT) magazine. Her series of talks on maritime heroes, brazen buccaneers and splendid ships are tailored to local places, national campaigns, and international anniversaries.
Cathy can be booked for talks in person and on Zoom, to U3A, WIs, sailing clubs and social organisations via SpeakerNet;
