Barn Owl Portrait - Susan Neale

The barn owl's ghostly, silent presence has long attracted artists, and watercolour is well suited to its soft layered feathers and large jewel-like eyes. This one-day workshop begins with the owl's overall shape and proportions using an easy-to-draw method, before painting the portrait in watercolour. Plenty of demonstrations and individual feedback cover feathers, beak, eyes, colour and capturing the bird's character.
