' Discover the Joys of Painting in Watercolour.' This creative and structured 6-week course will guide you through the essential steps of how to paint with watercolour. Whether you are new to the medium or hoping to learn new skills and refine your painting style - this is the perfect guide. From familiarity with materials - brushes, paint and paper, what and how to choose wisely, to the hands-on practice of brush and wash methods, essential colour mixing to suggest light and shadows plus instruction on getting the balance of water to paint ratio just right. Lots of invaluable hints and tips based on Susan's years of experience to help you achieve results through clear concise demonstrations and individual help. Each week we will build on the practice learnt from the previous lesson, helping you to adapt each stage to your own level of experience. Skies, flowers, trees, water these subjects and more will be the basis of our painting practice. There will also be an opportunity to delve into the world of complementary mediums to enhance our individual response to our work, such as pen and wash, watercolour pencils and coloured inks, to help achieve a balance between loose painterly work and detail.
