Climate activism and good mental health

How to model safe behaviour and keep ourselves individually and collectively safe

Climate anxiety is something that we will all experience to lesser or greater extents if we engage in climate activism. Learning how to manage it will allow for both long term engagement and good mental health.

This workshop will be delivered by a trained psychotherapist who works in the mental health field. The workshop will look at understanding climate-anxiety, managing climate -anxiety and therapeutic responses and how to keep ourselves individually and collectively in good mental health as we do this work.

We see this workshop as creating a foundational framework for how we organise and carry out the work in a way that holds us psychologically well. The Climate Hub is also exploring and developing different routes for eco-anxiety support, such as nature connection, that will sit alongside this workshop.

This workshop is for all people working in the climate or nature crisis at all levels.

DIRECTIONS IMPORTANT - to ensure you enter via the right entrance. 

ENTER via the Garden Entrance only on Cockenzie High Street (near Jame Dickson’s Fishmongers). You will get lost if you go in the main entrance.

From the  Cockenzie High Street entrance, walk down the path to a glass door. As soon as you are in the gate you will see an large outshoot to the building – café above, Willow Room below. All glass. The door will be open for you. Once in the door, you immediately turn to your right and you are there!
