At CEMVO we recognise that we are in a country where racism is deeply rooted and embedded in our society therefore are committed to empowering all our communities to foster a deeper understanding about race, racism and how to challenge and fight against it.
This training session is designed to offer regional hubs staff, volunteers and network members the chance to begin to explore and learn more about race, racism and how to be anti-racist. Hence, we believe that increasing our knowledge as a person is the most important anti-racist act, we can take upon ourselves. Pres. Nelson Mandela (RIP) stated that ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’ The training session aims to promote the values and assist participants in making practical and structural changes that contributes to a positive impact in the fight against racism and racial inequality. This will be packed with experiential activities, thought provoking true to life situations and plenty of opportunity for challenging conversations.
