Hedgerow surveying and management practicalities with Megan Gimber

A great opportunity with Megan Gimber from the People's Trust for Endangered Species to go in depth on hedgerow surveying, management and creating hedgerow management plans, and have your questions answered.  

The day will be split into three sessions. You are welcome to attend all three parts of the day, or choose the sessions which will be most useful for you to attend:

Session 1: Introduction to hedgerows and their lifecycles

9.15-9.30 am : tea, coffee and chat @ East Linton Community Hall (small downstairs hall)

9.30 - 10.15am: Introduction to hedgerows and their life cycle and management by Megan Gimber: this is particularly for those who were unable to attend Megan's previous workshop, although all are welcome @ East Linton Community Hall 

Session 2: Practical session - in depth surveying and management advice

10.15 - 12.45:  Practical session  - looking at hedgerow in different condition and having your questions answered about surveying and hedgerow management.  Start at East Linton Community Hall and walk together to the different hedgerow at Drylaw Hill

12.45 - 1.30:  Lunch.  Please bring your own and East Lothian Climate Hub will bring a few additional nibbles and pastries to supplement.  Lunch will either be eaten outside if the weather is good, or back at the Community Hall.

1.30 - 2.00pm: Questions on hedgerow management.  An opportunity to ask any further clarifying questions with Megan on particular aspects of Hedgerow management that you still want to understand better

Session 3:  How to create a Hedgerow management plan

2.30pm - 4.30pm:  Go through some of the practical steps on how to create a 10 year hedgerow management plan based on hedgerow surveying data and some of the key considerations to take into account  @ East Linton Community Hall (small downstairs hall), refreshments provided.
