GFF 2026: Building Sustainable Action in East Lothian
Part of the Green Futures Festival 2026 East Lothian’s celebration of communities acting on climate and nature issues.
This event organised by the East Lothian Climate Hub welcomes everyone who wants to learn about or who is already involved in climate, nature and sustainable activities and action.
Following on from our previous two vibrant Green Future Festivals, this event will be a dynamic and lively day for people and local groups to learn, exchange, connect and be inspired.
🅿️Parking on the day!
There is a lack of parking at the Community Centre due to an event across the road. Overflow parking is available on East Loan road, around the corner.

What to expect:
- To connect with people and grassroots groups from across East Lothian.
- Learn and exchange with other groups on starting or developing a local action group or environmental activity/project, from small projects to sustainable umbrella groups.
- Learning directly from established action groups, such as Lily's (Ormiston), Sustaining Dunbar, Sustaining North Berwick and Low Impact Living.
- Sharing and learning on specific topics, such as food growing; nature projects; energy and heat projects; reuse, repair, recycle; and adaptation.
- Workshops: Including from Pam Warhurst
- Stalls
- Kids activities table
- Plenty opportunity to mingle and get to know each other.
Please see the kids activities table above, in case you bring your little humans. There will be interactive games on the topics of nature and climate change.
You should come to this day if:
- You are new to thinking about how we can take local action to help make our communities safe in a changing climate.
- Have been work in climate, nature or sustainable action for a while and want to deepen your work.
- Are an ELCAN member.
The event will be held in Prestonpans, an area at high risk of coastal erosion. We will hear about the local area, the challenges faced and local engagement with the community around climate change.
As always, there will be music, good chat and plenty cheer! Lunch will be provided too. All community based and justice focussed work is hard! Lets make this event another beautiful Green Futures Festival gathering where we grow connections, inspiration and energy!
This year, we have split our third annual Green Futures Festival into 3 mini-festivals, that aim to be more targeted and impactful. This first event is for community groups working in climate, nature and sustainability. To view the the other two events, please see here.
